Who tries out?
Beginners or Developmental players DO NOT have to attend try outs. All other Travel Team players are required.
We typically have two tryout sessions per age group. We encourage you to
make both so coaches get maximum exposure to your athlete.
TRYOUT MANDATORY READING:
Before trying out, each player and parent must read the following
document and bring to tryouts the signed form indicating each have read.

How are team tryouts handled?
Year in and year out, this one area will be controversy with parents who believe their kid is far better than the evaluations of 20-30 coaches. Each must understand, our system has proven itself for over 10 yrs. Players are NOT pre-selected for teams! Specific details of tryouts are provided below. Each year we improve on the fairness and accuracy of the tryout system.
Once all of these factors are taken into place, the end result is very accurate. We have parents who believe players are chosen based on what school they are from, favorites picked, or political reasons. Many of our coaches have no idea who the player is, what team she played with the previous year or what school she is from.
Can a player join after tryouts or during the season?
Yes, provided we have space on a team based on her ability. Contact CS for details.
Unsure which CS
location to consider/choose?
When signing
up with CS- we want you to register for a specific practice location
( Sptbg-WSC, Simpsonville Rec, Grvl- Pavilion, or
Clemson) where 90% of your practices will be held.
Travel teams are formed at specific locations based on interest and
sign up. We will form teams to practice out of these locations
provided we meet minimum sign ups. If not, we will merge locations,
for example; if not enough to form teams out of Simp. Rec and
Pavilion, we will form a team and split practices at both
locations.
If you want to
be considered for two locations in order to determine what team you
would make, you will attend tryouts and we will inform you what team
you would likely make at least 24 hrs prior to final announcements,
then you would need to decide which location.
