Method of Team Assignment.

With 40+ coaches on staff, a few years ago we developed and implemented a seniority point based system for coaches.
Below is the system and how we assign and coaches get picks of teams based on standings.  We do two surveys a year
from parents and players, the year end survey is weighted significantly into this factor.  Satisfy the players/parents and you can
move up quickly, do poorly, not likely you will be invited back the next season.

Coaches Seniority Point System

Coaching Status
  College Head Coach     40
  First Asst Head Coach     30
  Asst. College Coach     25

  Head HS Coach     25
  Asst. HS Coach     20
  JV Head Coach     15

  Asst. JV Coach     10

  Head MS Coach     20
  Asst. MS Coach     10

  Club Coach     20

Coaching Tenure

Merit Points- CS Survey
  0-50
Scores are derived from a precentage of the overall Coaches evaluation from parents and players from the year end survey

0-20% Above Avg or Excellent score rate     10
20-40% Above Avg or Excellent score Rate     20
40-60% Above Avg or Excellent score rate     30
60-80% Above Avg or Excellent score Rate     40
80-100% Above Avg or Excellent score Rate     50
IF you have over 50% with Excellent rate     Bonus 25

If 50% or more is below average or lower, re-hire is reviewed for following season

CS pays once a month. Coaches must remit pay sheet at the end of each month.

Coaches who split teams and share coaching responsibilities will split total fee’s above.
If you sub for another team, you get paid YOUR coaches rate of pay.
If you hold your teams practice AND another teams practice, you get paid your base rate plus ½ the other team coach’s rate.
Tournament pay shown above is for full day, if ½ day tournament, divide totals by 2.

We assign teams based off of a seniority system.  Points are assigned and re-evaluated annually based off of a number of factors:
(1)Years coaching with Club South
(2) What you current coach- college, high school, JV, MS, etc
(3) Head coach or asst coach
(4) Merit points based on the survey results from your team and parents from previous year, which carries significant weight.  Remember, these families are paying and in effect, we are the employee.

Once your points are determined, we simply rank high to low, higher ranked coaches get first choice of teams/age and so forth.

Below are the guidelines/rules we expect each to adhere: We expect each of you to give 110% to make this a successful season. Below are our coach’s guidelines for Club South.

Commitment/ Practices:

·        It is critical that you check your email daily and respond promptly to request.

·        We don’t expect coaches to attend 100% of all practices; we do expect you to make the high majority of scheduled practices. We will do our best to work around any set conflicts.  If you can’t attend a practice, you are responsible for getting a coach to sub for you well in advance.

·        If you are unable to find someone, contact Sean or Jimmy. Required several days notice; do not call us the day before.

·        Set goals with your team.  Our goal for each team is for each coach to:  Be POSITIVE! Make it FUN !

·        Communicate with your players !  Remember, this is NOT school or college.. they PAY us; we need this to be fun, as well as a learning experience.

·        Practices should be well planned, prepare drills to avoid long lines where kids are standing.  Coach constantly, no sitting around.

·        At the end of every practice, balls should be shagged into carts. Have your team pick up trash before leaving.

·        Each team will specific cleaning duties from time to time- make sure you know when your team is responsible.

·        We may schedule match play for some teams on off tournament weeks.   Use this time to allow players who don’t get as much playing time to play.

·        WSC closes at 10pm on weeknights and 7pm on weekend nights. We must be out the door 15 minutes prior to this.. no exceptions.   Report any damage or injuries immediately to Jimmy.

Absolute restrictions :  Failure to adhere to these can result in dismissal from CS

·  Showing favorites.

·  Talking about another player, another CS coach, or CS Team to another player or parent.

·  Don’t make promises or plans concerning your team that relates to schedules, tournaments, fee’s, without first discussing this with the coaching committee.

·  Do not make comments or promises to parents or players concerning team placement.

·  Never take a child home in your car, unless it is an emergency.

·  Due to insurance requirements and to avoid even the appearance of any wrongdoing, do not have players in your room while traveling, unless it is a team meeting. In the world we live today, be extremely careful what you say, where you touch, how you act around players! Be professional at all times! Coaches will be asked to resign on first offense.

·  We have a number of very religious families, profanity should not be used.

·  Making derogatory or degrading remarks to a player is unacceptable.
